GoVols: Red Sea S-400

Moved on to what???
Well, Fudsey

I did keep the S-Series led upgrade kit, light bar, from January of 2017.

One Kessil AP700 with the slight diffuser in that light bar is an winner.

That is great led spread.

Got to give "The Aquatic Critter" Kudos for letting me try it out for 4 days before I pulled the trigger.

And thanks to @Crabs Mcjones for his incite too.

:)

I love it!!!

Looks really good!
Thanks, Deez
The tank is 40" wide and the AP700 is doing the job.
So far, the alk and cal intake is the same.

We've gone this far with the reactor mod and it has not clogged.

looking Great !!!
Thanks, Fadi

Our AC is still down. The chiller is hanging in there, but we are getting the run around from our home's warranty company. The compressor is shot.

I may buy an new AC unit next week.

Our town home is 80 degrees in the morning and 87 degrees at night fall.

That is very cold, come to KSA to change your definition of Hot lol

Honestly I run my AC all year around except January and February.

Look it is 8:00 in the morning and it is almost 100 degrees

That's awesome the new mod is still workimg as expected :) I am going to try a sponge on top of mine so I can turn up the flow on the reactor. Sorry to hear about the AC I hope you get it worked out soon.

Sorry to hear about the A/C.

So you running ONLY the AP700, you're no longer running the T5s?

You have high standards for lighting, so it says a lot that you are happy. I've been waiting months for the Orphek to be available, maybe I should follow your lead.

Yeah it's working.

I did push more flow, but it packed more beads at the top.
The water got so clear, that I chocked back the flow.

I was scared that the heavy flow with that many beads at top was stripping nutrients out of the water column.

Your reactor is way bigger than my RO reactor. You may be able to reach a higher flow rate.

You might try to stuff the Red Sea 225 micron mesh sock inside the output of the AquaMaxx reactor.

Yeah,
No T5's.

I am picky about spread, but you might want to stay with the Orphek.

You like you play with all the channels and the Kessil Logic shuts that down.

I can't say it's better, but I was ready to go all led and retire the T5 canopy.

Hope your having a good trip and "Happy 4th of July"!!

Nice thing is that while kessil takes away the slider bars with all the different colors. The ap700 allows you to add reds and greens in as wanted so they give you a little more control than with the a360s or a160s

Guys,
We're dropping in a new Trane heat pump unit on Wednesday.

We got 10 years on parts and paid $700 more to get additional 9 years on the labor.

The home warranty company is cutting us a check for what it would have costed them to replace the old unit's compressor / Freon and labor.

Well,
Reef 2 Reef looks slow today.

I did jack up the alk to 13.5 dkh, with the calcium reactor. In two days it dropped to 11 dkh with the cal reactor off.
That's over an 1 point of alk intake per day.

We've built up to 75% intensity with the AP700.
The entire reef looks great and I feel like that's the sweet spot, with the AP700.

@Crabs Mcjones

Zach,
My reef is 40" long and I could not be happier.
If it was 48" wide or bigger I think two Ap700's would be the right call for the upper / outer edges / in spread.

Thanks for your help!!
