Yes day 1 I add half then day 3 I add the rest which will give me 2ppm.. they state to maintain 1.5-2ppm but not to exceed 3ppm. After 21 days they say use carbon and water changes untill copper is at 0ppm.Not familiar with that product at all. But it says chelated on the bottle. Does it say what the therapeutic/effective range is? I know Coppersafe is 1.5-2.0ppm, but some chelated copper (like Copper Power) is as high as 2.5ppm.

Hey buddy, so it's been about a week with fish in qt. Copper level is around 1ppm-1.5ppm. My clowns are eating but my cardnialfish are not. They also don't swim around much at all. I read that with copper treatment some fish will refuse to eat, not sure what to do. Any suggestions? I have tried brine, mysis, meaty mix, dr. G., and even selco boost.I recommend treating for a solid month before you begin taking copper out of the water.

Wow.You'll have to start doing WCs to lower the copper concentration until all fish resume eating. After they do, slowly ramp the copper back up to therapeutic levels. If the fish stop eating a second time, you'll know you've encountered a copper sensitive fish and will need to do an alternative treatment such as hyposalinity, tank transfer method or Chloroquine phosphate. This is the major downside to treating with copper, some fish just can't take it. Liquid copper is a poison, pure and simple... the only reason it works for eradicating ich & velvet is because most fish can survive longer in it than the parasites.![]()
You were right... last night's wc brought copper down to .25 this morning both cardnialfish were hanging with the clowns waiting for food. They ate, not as much as when in the dt but more than I've seen over the past week and half or so when copper was 2ppm. I am going to keep copper around the .25ppm for a few days and feed heavy but keep water quality high to fatten them up then start to slowly ramp copper back up. They have lost weight since in dt tank. You'll have to start doing WCs to lower the copper concentration until all fish resume eating.
