Green hair algae

My tank is 2 weeks old but I moved all my existing rock from my neglected cube29 to the new tank, I am going thru the Diatoms phase plus i have GHA on the rocks that were brought over (even if i tried to scrap it off)

Diatoms: brownish covering rock and sand:

Don't Sea hairs die once GHA is gone?
If their is not enough algae yes. You can take it back to lfs or trade it around to reef friends.
In a small tank the algae will be gone in a day or two.
Just an option that works until you get your tank stablized.
My tank always has a small amount of gha though its very short.
My sea hare has been in my tank for 50 days and I may move him to the frag/lagoon system as some hair algae is showing.

My yellow Cori's will kill it I think. He picks and flips nassarius snails. I think a sea hare would be toast for me.

I had a yellow coris before he found the only opening in the top.
Sea hares are like giant slugs. My wrasse never paid any attention to it.

You are in the cycle process. Try turning your light off if you have it on. Then check your parameters. Do you run a skimmer? I use fritz turbo start that helps with the cycle and keep good flow.

I'll definitely get a phosphate test kit. I don't currently run a skimmer and used bio spira to cycle

This is more of diatom. reduce white light intensity a little and what type of water are you using ? (RO, tap. . )
Siphon as needed but not frequently

Got it. I'm currently using imagitarium pacific water. Will likely transition to reverse osmosis system in the coming weeks.
