Try leaning it on a rock see if it attaches to it. If it keep melting away cut a good chuck off of it maybe you'll get to save a little frag from it. I also bought one not too long ago and wouldn't open. It also like high flow
I'm not understanding this. Which part of the coral would attach to the rock? Also what ever happened with yours?
Smell it....you will know if it's dead if it smells bad
After that post last night I pulled it out to give it a dip. It didn't smell bad and was some what firm not squishy.

Mine attached to the rock and is doing well...if it's healthy just rubber the stock to a rock that has good glow and light

The only reason you want to try and attach with a rubber band to the lr is for it to be stable and find a place for it's foot

Find a good spot for it and its besr to leave it alone. It's a possibility that it's establishing to it new environment and chemistry

Does anyone have any idea what this brown stuff is now? I know the dead flesh was black but this is a brown coating. It blows right off.

(Just my thoughts though, imo its brown jelly of death) That's that Brown jelly of death man that's stuff can spread to other soft corals and zoas....check out Rosco's reef with Scott channel...he dipped his zoas and it helped him a lot

I'm researching brown jelly now and it sounds like you're right. Scary part is that it can also spread to healthy lps if it lands on it.

I highly suggest you do the same dip rosco' s did I just don't remembered what he mixed. I do know that he saved his best corals tho and only lost a little bit of his utter chaos, sunny d's, and others

I will definitely be taking some course of action asap. Do you remember the title of the vid? I'm going to try and find it when I get home.

I'm really sorry to say this but I just yanked it from the tank. It was completely covered and stunk. I'm too scared of something happening to my other corals if I left it in there. Not to mention I'd have to go out right now and get the supplies to try and treat it. I'm very dedicated with this hobby but I think this was just a lose lose.
