Ammonia:0
Nitrite:0
Nitrates: 0.60
Specific gravity: 1.025
I use a HOB filter so I know how the nitrates are being manufactured, I just changed the filter bag today

Calcium is low. It should be around 420-450. Nitrates are a little high also.

My green stars, my first corals in a new tank, often go through periods where they don't open. Sometimes for days on end. They then open do good for a while, then repeat. Maybe not all the polyps have died. give it time to see. It also took a very long time for the tentacles or whatever to get long. Stayed short for a good 6 months. Now at nearly 10 months, it's long and wavy and has spread to the rock in three places. I have mine in med light and high flow and it seems very happy. And my nitrates always run 20-40

I was thinking that not every polyp could have died, but nearly all of them have shriveld up, I think it has something to do with how they were bagged, I did not have enough time to acclimate them, so I left them in a room with an AC on and they got cold for a few hour, what's weird is they did fine for the first few days

Good and bad news, three polyps opened! The bad news is I was doing maintenence and a small rock rock fell on the frag, fun! Well at least I know they are still clinging on

you literally only need a single cell (or at least it seems that way) for them to come back, keep chugging along and trying to get your tank parameters balanced where they should be and they'll come back :)
