Guidance - Burning through RODI filters

I recall reading on another site that the first few minutes of RO water can be extra high in TDS so diverting the RO water before routing to your resin filters will extend their life some.

174 in, 6 out, that's what a 97% rejection rate? Not bad. Do you have high CO2 in your water? If so, you'll burn through DI resin much more quickly. How much water do you get out of one DI canister's worth of resin?

Haven't measured CO2 in water, but I do know I have hard water here....given that calcium and magnesium are typical of hard water, I'm assuming that I do have a fair amount of CO2 in the water.

Well, I do have hard water...so I presume the CO2 level is high.

I don't think you need to replace your RO membranes (unless you want to move to one of the 99% rejection ones from SpectrePure). What is the rate of consumption on your DI resin? You may want to switch over to one of the Triple DI saver configurations. Or you can try offgassing your product water before running them through DI.

I’ve actually never kept track to be honest, I just keep an eye on the TDS, when it creeps up I replace the resin.

Maybe this normal, but when I lived in Manhattan I only had to change the resin about twice a year, maybe three times.
