Gyre Died

I bought one and I did a quick water test in my 20gal after reading these issues since it's intended for my 120g build. I agree though, Coralvue has such good customer service and are so easily reached and respond quickly that it at least puts my mind at ease. Plus, if you register now, they will extend the warranty to 18mon....

I would hope so, I don't expect to buy a new product with the mindset of "it's probably going to fail, but hey it's new"
No one is telling you to, and the numbers verify that failure is not to be expected, but it should be expected to happen in a small number of units - that is just how manufacturing works. It is not possible to have a 100% perfect manufacturing process.

Guys let's please don't get bent over this stuff. Thank you.

The important thing to note is that if something goes wrong the customer service from these companies that are selling and providing these pumps will make it right! :)

For sure CoralVue has one of the best cs dept I have ever dealt with...very helpful!

Wow the response because one is worried about being something new and it fails not good. I will not buy one until all the kinks are out good luck guys.

I am surprised at some of the reactions on here. Some act like a new product should never fail ever. The intent is for them to never fail however there are going to be some that do. This happens with every mass produced product we buy from cars to blenders to what ever. What makes the difference is the companies customer service responses. I ordered one and if it fails I expect no leas than anyone else that it will be taken care of under warranty.

Well said.. I couldn't of said it better myself. As long as coralvue takes care of our issues, which I know they will there's nothing to worry about

I just got my Maxspect Gyre today. Plugged it in and it doesn't work. The blue controller lights blink once, then the blue power light blinks once, then the red power lights blink once, and it keeps repeating. I tried holding down the power button for 4 seconds to turn it on/off but nothing happens. It keeps blinking. Only way to shut it off is to unplug it. I'm going to submit a ticket with Chris @ Coralvue and hope theres a way to fix it.

David,

Sounds like the Gyre may have been bounced around a lot during shipping and needs to have the paddles and cages reseated. Please see our video and take apart and reset the wheels.

CVtv Episode 2 Maxspect Gyre Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Chris

So far customer service has been great. After a bit of trouble shooting by email, Coralvue is sending me a new unit to replace the dead one, which they will autopsy to see what happened. This is exactly the kind of service I had hoped to get.

Guess I'll be waiting for a gen2 or gen3 on these guys personally. I'm not about to dish out the cash for one and have it go out even if it will be replaced. Who's to say that one won't break right after the warranty period ends.

Received my Gyre last night. The pump powers on, but after about 5 seconds the red light flashes and the pump stops no matter what I do. I followed the setup guide and the dis-assembly troubleshooting video on CVtv posted in this thread. I submitted a ticket this morning, will report back.
