@Jaylivi1212 In case I've misunderstood your question, I think you can see in some of the video links I posted.

Their pumps are held to the glass by very strong magnets (dangerously strong!!!) and the pumps are powered directly. Maximum safety and best performance during operation.

I think all pumps other than vortech have a wire that goes in the tank.

I have a 110G high and i'm thinking about getting either a maxspect 250 Gyre to run horizontal and have 2 mp40 on the left side and right side of the back. Or should i just use 4 mp40s?
2 going horizontal and 2 on the back wall.

I have both MP40's and a gyre 250 on my 6 foot tank. Here are my thoughts and experiences with each.

The gyre moves a nice sheet of water across the tank. For long tanks (4' or longer) with fairly open rockwork, I think the gyres are great. The controller isn't great, but I wouldn't call it bad either. The flow on the gyre does get reduced quite a bit after being in the tank a few weeks and months, so I think it requires a bit more maintenance/ cleaning. Cleaning it is a bit of a pain but a lot of times I just soak the pump in some vinegar and water and let it run for an hour in a small extra tank I'll set up. A more thorough cleaning taking the paddles off and scrubbing will still be needed from time to time (and that's the nuisance cleaning that people refer to often).

The vortech I find offer better random flow capabilities, so I like them for my acropora. They are less volume of water being pushed out compared to a sheet of water that the gyre creates. However, two mp40's on opposite sides can be set up to create a gyre type flow when positioned and set up accordingly. Syncing and antisyncing modes and various programs are nice, but I believe the maxspect can do the same for the most part. The part I love about the vortech is the low profile and no cords in the tank. Cleaning is easy as you simply remove the wetside. Price wise, they are expensive relative to a maxspect gyre. I run both. If i had to choose one or the other, I'd pick my mp40's, assuming money was not an issue.

I use 2 Jebao's mp8s?? and a Ice Cap Gyre. Amazing. I love the turbulent yet pulsing movement of the whole tank. I have a 90 bow front corner tank so the challenges are constant with the shape. I would put some EcoTeck MP 40s on there but as said above, the tank going in a corner, it can't have the "wart" on the back
I have noticed that all my corals are much happier after adding the Gyre. I run it on the "gyre" mode with the flow running forwards and backwards ramping up to %60. Perfect

Mp40s are better quality, and less tempermental while the gyre has the advantage of moving water without it being a stream. In a 110 the answer Is both depending on the corals. I like an mp40 set on each side synced together creating a wave but you still need more water movement in my opinion in a 110 due to the depth. Maybe a small gyre in the center back moving water in a sheet the opposite direction.

Wait....I think I misread. Are you adding a 3rd and 4th mp40 to the tank, not the 1st and 2nd???
