Yes it’s very common to the degree I’ve never seen it do any other action when added to a tank in these threads. First I saw of it was from rc 2009, in a thread Boomer had made about the phenomena.

hey for helpful data, can you possibly do this experiment and post the comparative measures? It helps us get a picture of organics being at play for the readings
take one pitcher of water which is tank water, and add peroxide. Give it about five mins to set then post redox measure/ tank water only
take one pitcher of water and this is freshly made saltwater / next time youre doing a water change...measure redox and post, then one more measure after dosing peroxide (low organics comparative set, can this one show raised orp vs drop?)
from those measures it seems you can rule out/rule in the organic factors as the reason adding an oxidizer is causing an acid response in your system. We can see it’s effects in the high organic system measure from your post, scale it down using water dilutions to proof the cause of the reading. What if the measure still drops in the clean water test? calamity lol
