Today I picked up a Haitian anemone from petco. It looked really healthy and was like $15. I hope all goes well for the nem. Any suggestions for keeping Haitian anemones?

All I will tell you after owning probably ten when I was a younger.... good freaking luck!
There’s a reason why they’re so cheap. Very cool looking and you can keep them for a fair amount of time. For me, they would look great for a month, then the anemones would always find their happy placethen just go south from there.

Pretty sure most will agree with me, not trying to bring you down! This is an amazing cool anemone, just flaky.

I’ve owner carpet anemones, rose tip, bubble tip, every other one besides a CSB. Was always successful besides this anemone.

Is this also known as 'Pink Tip ' or Condylactis? If so, I concur unfortunately...kept trying to the tune of a half dozen over my first decade in hobby. They just never worked out. Beautiful Nems though....since I have moved to Pacific Long Tents. Had one for 3 years till he got irreparably damaged on an intake pipe (lesson learned), and current one is a year. Similar look, just seems to acclimate better. Best of luck OP regardless. 15 buck price is right, usually around here up in the 30-40 range....

Correct! Also known as the Pink Tip and Condylactis.
Around here they’re $25 I believe, but when you look at the tank, that’s the only thing in there. I mean, like there aren’t even fish in there? Petco here sucks for this reason! Then again, I’m glad they don’t stock them that much because not many here own a saltwater aquarium.

15 bones then at least OP got a deal, who knows what happens...you watch, Aiden will knock it outta the park lol, and good for that. Staunton? Va? Gorgeous little town we stayed in for a few nights years back. Did the tour of Shenandoah, Charlottesville , Staunton over a week....you've got a sweet spot there.

It’s a beautiful little quiet town! Until the flooding hit last year! Major damage downtown. Last flood was like a hundred years ago!
Shenandoah and Charlottesville are right around the corner! Both very nice and beautiful too!
Got to ask! Why did you tour here!?!?
Many breweries over here. To many to count....

Well, yes to the brewers lol! Toured as we (well me entirely, and the wife somewhat) are college football fans. Virginia was on our list. So we planned our vacation around seeing Tennessee in Knoxville, and Cavaliers after that. We also stayed up in the Mountains for a few days in Lydia I believe was the nearest town? Rag Top Mountain? I might have that wrong? Ugh, sorry to hear of the floods. I have friends in WV who suffered similar unfortunately....we both agree the scenery was some of the best we have seen amongst our travels, the people were friendly (and couldn't believe we were from Canada lol) and will be back....

Just no, it’s gonna die guaranteed and wish petco would stop bringing in those things and selling them to newbs..

You ever pass on through again, let me know! If you’re a fan of beers, I’m your guy!
I would also tell you to stay much longer! Many great food locations too!
If you can go further south too, it’s very nice down there! But if you want the fast lane, go to Northern VA..... that’s where I enjoy it the most! If you can get past the traffic, you’ll like it there too.

Well yes likely....but you and I aren't going to stop it anytime soon...even with the slight rise in price. As I mention, I've learned to steer clear....let's hope the OP makes it work....never know.... They are a beautiful Nem imo, and best left on some fringing Caribbean reef....

I set up this tank specifically for a hatian anemone and some macro algae. I’ve been in the hobby about five years with lots more to learn. This is just an experiment for me to get my feet wet at the care of anemones.

We’re here 24/7 for you! Ask questions anytime! You’ll get honest answers!
Can we get a full tank shot to see you progress.

You should set up a camera and record the anemone. Then after a day, watch it in 6x and you’ll see that anemone go everywhere. Pretty cool to see.

You've chosen a difficult one, but the price is right....and so the goal is now how do we make this one successful. Update the thread every few days and keep us posted. Best.

It’s not really a coral or fish based tank. It’s more of an invert only setup at the time.

I love it! It’s an amazing little tank! Watch out if you put snails in here, they might climb out.
Here’s what one of mine did when I took the lid off for three minutes....
