Something also mayhave been eating or picking at it. Has any animal been lurking around it?

here is my pet collection : RedSea Refeer 525 xl 150 gal
who you think did this to the coral?

1 yellow tang
1 blue tang
1 powder blue
2 purple tang
1 kole tang
1 Melanurus Wrasse
2 Wrasse ?? not sure which once
1 Angelfish
1 Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish
6 designer clownfish
1 Spotted Mandarin, Captive-Bred ORA
2 Ruby Red Dragone
1 Flame Hawkfish

I would blame that lemonpeel angel for the damage, they are serious corallivores and are not safe in any reef setup. The longnose butterfly is safe, they only pick between the rocks and branches, they don't eat coral themselves though.

In pic 2 it appears there is a nice chunk of the right side cut off or missing. That area specifically appears to be turning to brown jelly and you can see the opposite side still has flesh. Whoever fragged this didn't give this piece a good chance by cutting through where the flesh would be and extend over imo..
