Hands down what is the best salt mix????

I am going to start mixing my own salt for my aquarium but I want to buy the best salt mix please give me suggstions? I was thinking of going with Tropic Marin Pro Reef.

It all comes to personal preferences, I like Brightwell, DD, and Red Sea.

But I do stand by Reef Crystals out of all of them... I want to try Brightwell, I hear its nice, but can cause Cyano problems.

I agree with above. You will get 20 different answers. Best advice I can give is pick a good quality salt (not necessarily the most expensive) and stick to it. Tropic Marin Pro Reef (as you mentioned) is a good salt. There are many others and most can help in producing a thriving reef environment (everything else being equal).

Also agreed it is your preference, I use Red Sea Coral Pro and I'm really happy with it.

I've been using Brightwell since it first came out and i've never had cyano issues FWIW

the debate is huge.ive tried many.
first salt was HW.worked well was expensive if i saw it id probably try it again.
IO had lots of problems
reefcrystals was better than IO but left stufff on bottom of bucket.
kent marine ,i liked but had trouble with calcium levels.
seachem .not bad salt.
tropic marin ,loved it but was low on calcium
red sea really liked it
redsea pro ,so far i i love it but leaves a residue
DD i had problems with high alkalinity.
just finished a bucket of Royal nature,caused burnt tips with my sps,,i will never use this salt again.
went to the store to buy tropic marin pro last week but they were out,instead i bought a bucket of tropic marin bio-actif,changed 15 gallons not enough to see whats its like but like it so far

Ive done them all, reef crystals to D&D h2o, Tropic marine pro,Coral life, Oceanic, but now Im hooked on ESV. Its alittle Pain but Im having great results

personally i like a salt that after it has circulated for 24 hrs has a ph of 8.2

I've been using Brightwell since it first came out and i've never had cyano issues FWIW

tropic marin pro has never gave me issues been using that salt since I got into this hobby almost 2 years ago

Check out sybon salt from premium aquatics very inexpensive getting same results as when I used rc or red sea pro

Used D&D and now have been using Salinity for the last 6 months. Corals are doing amazing, but every tank is different.

I feel the same, I was using reefsalt from seachem and made the switch to salinity and all my corals seem to be happy!

i have been using salinty for the past 8-9 months and i like it. no cyano issues and not too bad a price and you get 220 gallons and a nice bucket to boot. levels are solid except magnesium , but i have not tested for mag after making a fresh batch in a while.

I've used TM Pro Reef for years and it has been fine, but expensive. Not sure, but I think it is best for systems with a ca reactor. Just started trying out DD.

I use red sea coral pro and love it! My corals are growing and coralline in my tank really took off after switching from IO. My params are kept in check so far too!
