Hanna nitrate checker!

I couldn't find any technical information either- I don't know if they've released those details yet.

Just saw on Facebook (post from Hanna itself) that the range is not yet final. Kind of hoping saltwateraquarium.com has old specs!

I really hope this thing reads more than 20 - 30 ppm. What if you've been on autopilot for a while and your nitrates are in the 50 - 60 ppm range? What if you have a tank crash and your nitrates are over 75 - 100 ppm? This thing is basically useless to you if it just reads MAX until you get to 25 ppm.

I hope they make a high range one with less precision if they can't figure out how to make one checker do both low and high ranges.

I understand what you’re saying but I never have issues with reading high nitrates on a test kit. Trying to figure out if I’m at 2 or 5 nitrates on a Salifert kit is dang near impossible though. I spent months trying to decide if I was reading any nitrate at all.

Love this. Another vote for the 0-20 range. I think 0-30 might not have as high of precision, so 0-20 would allow for an appropriate amount of error.

@Hanna if you make the range only 0-5ppm we will all be disappointed and it may cost you sales. Take note!

Useless to me unless it reads at least to 20.
I think if they release it and its only 0-5 then they will miss a lot of the market, i for one will not be getting excited until it comes out with 0-20 at least

For everyone hoping for high range I would think you could trade a little accuracy for range by diluting the sample. Use 1ml tank water and 9ml fresh saltwater, and multiply the result by 10 to get a 0-50 range, or 2ml sample and multiply by 5 for 0-25, 5ml and x2 for 0-10?
