Ok thanks for clearing that up for me
Keep in mind the accuracy is +/- 10 or 4% according to the instructions. Using an Elos tritiation kit, it was reading anywhere from .5-1 nitrate, that's why I was dosing. Since using this meter I'm not worrying about the higher ppb number, at least I know nitrate is there somewhere. It hasn't affected the Homewreckers or Matt V orange envy which I'm closely watching.

Or since 5 is your ending number on the checker then you multiply by 3.29 which is 16.45 parts pre billion then .16 would be parts pre million. I’m have same problem trying to figure out so I hope someone can answer and tell us a good range is good even though Randy’s post showed us were nitrites weren’t harmful to marine fish I read it 3 times

5 x 3.29 is 16.45 divide by 1000 to get ppm, which would be 0.016

FWIW, I don't see how anyone is going to be able to specify a particular low range as "desirable" or "optimal" or whatever, since there isn't likely to be data at such low levels to support the conclusion that a little more is not still "desirable". :D

Update to above post. I spoke to Hanna rep again 0-30 is the safe range for a reef , closer to 0 he said. Mine was reading Inu for inverted, meaning the sample was so close to set point that it couldn’t read it. Tested it again this morning it read 16. Margin is +/-10 ppl +/-4% of reading.

Agreed, when it’s low I dose a little. Watching corals of course

Yes, it’s about the nitrite ulr checker and I also dose nitrate when I think it’s needed. I watch the corals over watching the numbers. I don’t want it bottoming out to zero, tank runs low on both N03 and P04.
