Ok testing for phosphates
When I test for phosphate i use hanna low range phos and then red sea i get 2 total different readings drives me crazy
Hanna test .25. Red sea .0
Hanna test .13 read sea 0

Hanna test 2.2. Red sea .04
Hanna test 2.0 Red Sea.03
Can some one pleasr tell me which on to believe

My Hanna low range test about the same as Red Sea and salifert. Make sure you mix the reagent for the full two minutes before testing. I've noticed if I only mix for a minute and a half it give me a higher reading

So you are saying to shake constantly for full 2 minutes
What is your prefered reading for hanna and which hanna do you use

Ok I tested as stated my reading states 1.54 PPM using Hanna HI173 reagent HI73-25;Can you translate this for me is this good reading
Red sea Read .02

I use the hi713. My readings are normally .00 to .04. I do shake lightly for the full two minutes.

Sorry bro for asking why do I get such different reading from red sea and hanna

I also have Hanna and Red Sea for Po4 mine both read close to the same and yes you must mix the Hanna reagent for full 2 min. I set a timer and get .03 to .05 depending on how old my GFO is , unless you have an algae problem your Po4 is probably not as high as some of your readings.

do you have to do calculation on the hanna or is that a true reading
my hanna is phosphate PPM model 713.I did exactly what yall said and got a reading of 1.54 ppm and read sea .02.I would like to know which one to believe and what number to shoot for

When u test with the Hanna does it have a blue tint to the Water after mixing? I can almost tell about what the reading going to be after mixing and before the 3 min. Countdown. If water clear than I know it's going to be .00 if there is a hint of blue I know it's going to be up a little. The darker blue the higher the po4 are.

If your not having an algae problem than I don't think your po4 are at 1.54.

If you have no algae and No3 is good then I would Hanna checker is wrong Po4 over .09 you would have nuisance algae, try using a 10 ml syringe and check I bet your reading is closer.

it is a very light blue just tint ok ty

When I get home I'll do some test and post some pic. But it sounds like your Hanna checker is wrong. Make sure the vials are clean with no residue on them this will throw off the reading.

Ok ty those was brand new vials
Am i suppse to add or divide anything

Test on DT and tub that has 30lb live rock. First pic Hanna test. First tank water Second DT tested water .02 third live rock tub tested water .40

Red Sea test DT between .00 and .02 so .01. Live rock tub .36.

I think you might be using the wrong reagent.
