Don’t get me wrong I use the Alk checker Religiously phospate weekly salinity and PH and just got the high range nitrate. Love it, easy to use but…
Hanna would it kill you guys to put a little beep on your nitrate and phosphate checkers when the timer is done my dang OCD screws me over every time I get stuck doing something else and miss the timer! I’ll pay the extra money for that!
That is all

lol, I have always wanted the same! I use a timer on my phone to keep me on track with testing, but would be nice to have it built in for sure. I know every time I open my phone to check something (like a timer for my test) I get distracted by notifications or work emails and end up missing what I opened my phone for in the first place.

Agreed - you have to put another timer on with audible alert to let you know when the 3 minutes are up.

Come on Hanna, put a little beeper on the unit to let us know when the results are ready!

Mate this happens to me to much, I press the timer on the p04 and I must only just miss out! I take another sample of water and put the original sample in with out the countdown. A buzzer would be great or just display the result for 5-10 minutes? It couldn’t hurt the battery life to much.

Seven min is a loooong time when you got kids running around asking for stuff constantly and a wife that can’t do anything by herself. That’s on top of crippling OCD
Yea but I saw the pics you posted on your aquarium the other day on this site - spectacular! You are a Master Reefer!

So come on Hanna, listen to this Master Reefer and put the dang beeper on your checkers!

lol tell me about it!

I have the same problem.... what I do now is to place my Hanna checker in clear view of one of my tank cameras....
If it times out and I miss it, I just go back and view the camera footage to what the result was before it timed out.

A beep/alert would be nice.

While we're at it...

Replace the reagent packets with those long vertical pouches you find at coffee shops. The geometry and luck involved with perfectly opening those square packets is too much work. Use the sugar packet design and just tear off the top and pour in.

AND - while we're at it - forget the ping, just work in some bluetooth/wifi and hit an app on my phone with the measurements when done. Keeps a log etc.

That would be amazing. Nothings worse the waiting 6 minutes and walking away to come back to a blank hanna checker LOL

I have a question since we're on the Hannah checker topic- I always use the 'instant' read (press the button once) instead of having to wait for it countdown before displaying the results. Does anyone else perform their tests like this?

I just got some new reagents yesterday, and i'm thinking of doing a test to see if the numbers are different.

I hate those Hanna packets so much. Snip it open, oh, there goes a little bit of the reagent. Tilt it out, oh, there's another puff. Then you think you've got everything in, only to open the thing up all the way and find another chunk still in the envelope.

If they must use a powder... would it kill them to put it in a jar and include a little spoon rather than using those accursed packets?

I like the container/spoon idea, too.

There has to be a better way.
