These are junk if you drop/scratch them right?

I think they're gonna give inaccurate readings.
They are a bit expensive since they are lab grade glass but I recall hearing that hanna makes another cheaper vial for a different product that will also work (it just has a different cap), anyone know which vials those are? I can't remember

BRS has both of them. I ordered the cheaper ones, and kept the caps for the originals.

They also sell 4 cuvettes without caps for $21. 4 caps are $28 lol, or 2 cuvettes with cheap caps are $8

2 pack with cheap caps $8

4 pack, no caps $21

4 pack of caps, $27

I was off by a dollar, sorry.

Thats crazy, i wonder if they sell many caps. Hey homer thanks a lot for the links, I'll just order some cheap vials!

Just be aware, I have found with the cheap vials, if you drop them, they blow apart. Might want to order a couple spares while your at it.

Not sure why, but I always seem to drop the ULR phosphorus cuvette. But have never dropped the ALK one.

Be careful with those nylon caps, I broke one in my hand trying to pill that sucker out. All their replacement cuvettes come with those nylon caps. Man those suckers are in there!

So how does everyone properly clean the vials? Rinsing them out and putting them bunches together in a Tupperware container probably isn’t the best way. Lol

If you have another hanna kit, simply use from that kit and clean well.

If you drop them and they don’t break, should be OK. Scratch them, depends where.

The light path through the glass should be clean and scratch free. If you want to understand this more, open the lid, load an empty vial without a cap and look down into the empty vial as you turn on the Checker, press C1 and then press C2. Do this in a dark room. You will see the light pass through a small area of the vial and the sensor detects the light through a small area of glass on the other side. These are the only places that need to be clean and scratch free.

You need to use the same vials for the same test. If you use one for alk and the phospates, it will be off.
