I saw a post today talking about the hardiness of corals and more specifically acropora and which ones are more hardy and which ones were not.

So the question is this.

If you were to suggest the most hardy acros in the hobby what would they be?

Pictures are good too if you have some to share! :)

And don't say.....ALL OF THEM!! :p

Come on peeps!

I would say it depends on for how long it's been in an aquarium. If it's been in aquariums for a long time many Acropora species are quite hardy IMO.
But anyway, I'm in. Here's an Acropora nana(many maybe would call it valida or tri colour, but I believe it's a A. nana). This grows well in most tanks at the museum. Fast growing and with nice colours :)

Tri-color valida And red planet for sure.

I literally could not kill a tri-color valida colony. I was running out of space, and put it behind some rock work in the back of my tank. Long story short, I forgot about it for a few months, and it was twice the size when I pulled it out from behind the rocks LOL

A few “ I can’t believe it lived through that” acros. Tri color, green slimer and spainbow. They might have stopped growing for a year or longer but they’re survivors. Just gotta nurture them and have faith !

Ask a acro newb what is still alive in the tank and he might say like. tri color, pc rainbow bonsi red planet and a couple he don't know oh and a pink floyd is still around ....oops!

I’ve a relative newbie at Acro, only started keeping them 2 years ago.

Red Planet and Millepora been very fast and strong growers for me.

Most resilient Acro I have a is unknown brown wild Acro, on arrival it was covered in AEFW, then stripped half way up the frag when co2 on my calcium reactor got knocked causing the KH to shift from 7.5 to 12. But it’s survived it all grown over the dead white bleached areas on its lower branches.

No idea what it is, but it’s pretty bomb proof, my other Acro are showing beautiful colours but this guy stays brown....happy, healthy but brown! Lol
