Great fish. One of my favorites. Fine with coral. Shrimp may be okay if they are in the tank first when the tusk is introduced, but there's always a risk there. Adding a shrimp later most likely would just trigger the eating response from the tusk (after all, fish get accustomed to us dumping food in to them, so adding a shrimp might be viewed the same way). Smaller fish like chromis and other wrasses are probably not good to keep with the tusk, although I think you might be able to manage another wrasse in a large tank....personally, I don't like stressing my fish and smaller wrasses can be irritating to a tusk. Snails and crabs are likely to be snacks for the tusk. My hermit crabs fares fairly well, but any snail my tusk could get a hold of its shell was a goner. Turbo snails were usually too large for my tusk to grab but any cone shaped snail like trochus got killed in short order. I'd really hate that a lot if the snails would get pieces bitten out of them and would live for a while before dying and rotting in the shell. I had to watch snail shells and if they didn't move after a day or so, then I'd check them. I never realized how much cleaning my snails did until my tusk decimated them all. I love the fish, though !
