I just got a notice because UPS decided that they're suspending all operations until next week! They were in my neighborhood today so they should have had my batteries on that truck but they didn't. They arrived at the hub last night [emoji36] My batteries will not be here in time for my air bubblers. I really hate UPS in my neck of the woods. And I do intend on sending them back regardless just for spite.[emoji35] [emoji34] [emoji36] as it is I paid $8 extra for "next-day" through Amazon for them to arrive 4 days later..... I could spit nails right now!

From Houston to Florida God bless y'all! Don't get caught on the roads...that is how most of people died here.
Thank you for your thoughts

O my, I have to check and see were my battery back up is.

Good luck

Just checked and it was out for delivery 3 hours ago and not it show in transit. I would say the backup is not coming

They must have turned all of their trucks around and headed them home. Probably because of the traffic. When Glenn was on his way into the neighborhood he saw several UPS trucks out there and normally we only have two for the whole area

Yes that's what they did to me and then later I got a message saying that it was delayed until next week

I guess I will get my battery backup next week then;) I second day air it on purpose too:)

Thank you, you too! They just put us (west central) dead center of the cone too....

Well there is nothing to be done, but to stick together and get through this:)

Woohoo, Glenn made it home!!! AND he has the semi with the generator on it :D ! It will be running the 180g return every other hour so not to spoil the sump. 2 of the bubblers will also go in the 180 as well. The 45g & 29g will each get a bubbler and a power head on my power inverter attached to my car battery for 15min per hr. I'm ok with losing my phyto/pod/macro breeding 20g. The eye is projected to come right through my county but we are supposed to have less rain than right below us. Of course none of that matters in Florida because we always lose our power and regular thunderstorms! And that is the true big issue....

I CANNOT believe the Gators Dockside which is where my daughter works is making them come to work on Sunday!!! [emoji35] They are in The Villages Brownwood which is in the red zone for rain and she has to cross under I-75 which took her 2 hours for a 20 minute drive to get to work today! Even if she can get there she may not be able to get home to her baby which will be with me. She will have to pass the lake that will more than likely be overflowing the main road. As it is the lake comes right up to the road now. All over football [emoji35] PRIORITIES..... Hopefully they'll change their minds on this either way I'm going to convince her not to go.

Another 29g of RO for anyone else in my neighborhood that may need it later on. I have stopped making it for everybody else so I could have my own too [emoji14] I have decided since I still have some time to do a second water change on the tanks to make that water is clean as possible before it hits. I'm going to blow the rocks out a second time also.

Those soda bottles are actually 3 liter not 2 liter bottles that I have saved for about 13 years with intention of making a craft project with them LOL Funny how life gets away from you but I still managed to keep those bottles haha!

Jackie your so awesome, yes you are, supplying the hood with your RO water.
When this is all over the Diesel will give you for two years a supply of RODI filters.
You are class act.
Stay strong and hunker down.
Tell your daughter she's grounded and if she gets fired of her job cause of this I know a really good lawyer.
Glad Glenn made it home ok and now you have a generator to play with by times.
Run your tank without sump and light, just your pumps in the tank and bubblers.

I'm blushing... [emoji4] Just doing what I hope someone would do for people I care about. Some of these people have no-one and it just feels good to help when I can in any way that I can. It is how good karma is made ;)

My daughter's company chose to be good human beings at 10pm tonight and shut the place down and not reopen at least until Tuesday (conditions permitting). [emoji122] [emoji122] [emoji122] [emoji2] I feel better now!

I am curious why not to run the return pump instead of the powerheads? I did this when my tank was crashing (5 hrs into the crash) a few months ago, I wonder if I added to the situation?

I rarely panic, thank God, in tough situations (and if I do I never show it- habit from being a mom of a walking medical dictionary). I actually am at my best lol. It is when I have too much time to worry..... So I am staying busy [emoji12]

I will do my best to keep the forum posted on the conditions here. Hopefully we won't lose the cell towers. I'll be keeping my phone on minimal power usage though if power goes out and will text you periodic updates.

I will say this once more.... if any of you reefers are on i75 in the Wildwood area and want to hunker down in a safer location, get off that highway onto Inverness hwy 44 and come stay at my house! I75 is going to be a very dangerous place to be come storm time. I'm just 18 minutes away on high ground! Call or text me at 3526132933! I have a queen guestroom, crib available and a monster sectional.

I pray there will be no lives lost here in FL and as minimal damage as possible. Stay safe everyone!

Jackie

It did not, the UPS depot is by us. Figuring out plan B

Give them a visit if they are close.
But remember only if all you prep work is done for the home and family.
The hobby is the fun time, in my case I had installed a whole house gennie and that's all the tank will get.
If I had to leave the house a week ago due to the water so be it, fish and corals are on their own.

Thank you Diesel , I have a 10.5 Kw propane generator with about 24hr of fuel and I can switch things on and off from the panel with the main turned off. I will unplug all nonessential powered items. Our power was out during Charlie in 2004 for about 8 hours. I like a back up plan, no pun intended:D.
If need be I can run the system for every hour for 15 minutes.
Let me call UPS and see if there is any one at the facility.

My son found me some batteries at Royal King yesterday :D. I have to say one thing I have a newfound respect for FedEx! They didn't turn tail and run with your merchandise on their truck... They delivered my quilting machine today and they don't normally deliver here on Saturdays!!! Big big Kudos FedEx!!!

The thing is, batteries are clearly marked on their boxes. Imagine how many boxes of batteries were on those trucks and it was known why they were needed. Yet they turned tail and ran back home to big mama? The skies were blue and it was actually a beautiful day yesterday. They had extra trucks on the roads they could have delivered everything just fine. And it is still a pretty decent day today. I have lost all respect for UPS now [emoji19] Next time I order something that I want quickly FedEx it will be.
