Has anyone had luck returning Jebao pumps?

I have cleaned it the best I could without taking it apart.

I just physically cant take it apart, my name is not Hulk. I will try again tonight. If I need to get the hammer out, I will.

Sounds like Soaking it in viniger first may help. If it has seized from calcium cabonite built up a soak will dissolve the viniger, just give it time.

I agree with you 100%. Just not worth the risk. I would only consider if I had 2 running side by side for redundancy. That applies to most DC return pumps. They just do not last like AC return pumps.

If it that hard to take apart you must be dosing too much possibly causing precipitation. or dosing right next to the return pump without the proper water movement may want to look into it, and would have saved you the headache this has caused you.

If you have the DCP , you will have to twist the volute.

Its just four screws then pull apart the front cover from the main unit. Even if you've never cleaned it, "Hulk" strength is not required to work the two pieces apart.

If it's the dcp you take off the bottom plate (what it sits on) and then turn it. I had the same issue and I sat there wondering how to get it apart. If it's really stuck run it in some vinegar for an hour or so and it should come right apart.

So far this has been a solid pump, I have the dcp-6500

If you are having a hard time and the impeller is possibly jammed I would imagine you have some algae and other build up on the pump. You may make it alot easier to open or even fix the issue by giving the pump a bath in a vinegar/water bath.

Definitely just soak the pump in a vinegar solution. If you want fast results get some cleaning vinegar in gallon volume from W-Mart and do a 100% vinegar bath for a day. I don’t care what’s seizing that pump, it’s coming apart after that for sure. Should probably need only a few gallons in a 5 gallon bucket to completely submerge that pump as well. You can also take advantage and clean some of your other equipment too

My LFS has a sign in front of the Jebao section stating all Jebao pumps are final sale, no returns allowed. Kinda tells you a bit about the product...

Don't forget to take the bottom plate off first. You will not get it apart with that in there. If there are no screws then the face plate on the impeller side will twist off. The DCp's do not have screws that I know of, at least mine does n0t. After you slide off the bottom plate then have the impeller portion face you and twist counter-clockwise and it will come apart. There really is nothing to it.
