HAS AQUAFORST SALT HELPED YOUR SPS's ?

Those of you that have used this salt for a few months or more, has it made a difference in your corals as far as good health, growth and color ?

I have been using it for about 6 months on an lps tank i do notice the corals open up more right after a water change and my phosphate levels are lower without using gfo.. i do use some of there additives but prefer the zeovit additives better.. i also like how clean the salt is and how quick it disolves

Do you have it delivered or does your LFS carry it ?
I'd like to try a few of the other brands, but around here we have just Reef Crystals & Instant Ocean, so shipping costs are high.
One of the Aquaforst salts is one I would really like to try.

i get it online its under 100 bucks shipped i have used a lot of other brands i personaly like this one the best. i switched from reef crystals years ago and would never use it again in my lifetime lol

100 bucks, what size ? I've always used Reef Crystals too, but with my newest 125g, I want something different to try out.

I have test every bucket I have bought and there spot on with the batch paperwork they come with

I've only been using it for 4 weeks but i do notice betting PE on my sps. I'm currently only using the salt but my try the additives eventually.

Mine showed the SG as 1.024 on the paperwork. I'm not sure why they would not test at full 1.026 SG. If they aren't then it throws all the other numbers off.

I haven't noticed a change in my corals yet, but I do like that it mixes up so clean and quick.

That's what I use currently but I'm tired of 2 out of 3 buckets being extremely deficient in one area or another. Mg especially as the numbers barely break 1100 anymore. it's too much to pay for a premium salt only to have to dump in a bunch of money in sups every water change. I currently continue to use it because other then Aqua forest and Red Sea blue bucket all the other salts have too high of alkalinity. Those three are all 8.0 or under. But That's why I'm considering changing

IMO, no one salt is better than another....it comes down to what numbers you are currently keeping your tank at and how closely the salt matches those numbers. I switched from Reef Crystals to Red Sea Blue for the lower alk.

Agree with all you wrote here. The thing with Salt is going with less CA or Mg isn't the end of all since we can always correct it, problem is high alk...that does the damage and must be avoided. The Aquaforest salt is cool since each bucket comes with batch and inspection sheet. I just find it too expensive for only 160 gals.

I personally will never use it again. Too many issues come with using that brand. The common response is that all the problems experienced are "user error" but it is funny how most of the users report similar issues which makes it a common occurrence with that brand. I had to do a 100% WC change out. Even though my tank has been running for 4 months (2 1/2 months cycling), the test sps corals were doing horribly with that salt. Both the smooth skin SPS (red dragon & hawkins echinata) I placed in there eventually RTN'd and I can no longer keep them no matter how many I replace. The other 2 sps, milliporas, recovered fine after doing the 100% WC with another salt brand.

Edit: I used the full system minus the zeo stuff, carbon, and gfo.

What salt do you use now?

I use two salts. Red Sea Blue Bucket for large water changes exceeding 10G and Salinity for small weekly 5g water changes.

Salinity for weekly Trace replenish but low amount due to high dkH.

Red Sea for large system correction by WC. With the low dkH, it works out for the best.

My system is roughly 80 gallons total.
