Every where I look I see Tyree...... I believe that it has turned into a big scam. I just dont see how it is posible that this one persons (Tyree) coral has made it into about every reef across America. What are peoples thoughts on this?

OMG you can't be serious.Tyree didn't invent coral!!!!!

By the sound of it a person would sure think so!!

If you look at his site, 90 percent of the coral can be purchased from the sponsors on this site. As we know, most of the online sellers sell wild coral that has been collected. I guess I just dont understand all the hype........ Maybe its just me?

i dont know. i dont think that he can be the only person who supposedly who has whatever particular piece. someone else could also have it and just not know. so how can it be a tyree whatever. i just think its silly i guess. he didnt create the coral. he has no real claim to the coral. i dont think his name should be on every whatever piece of coral, because like i said someone else could have the same thing but just cause he has it and doesnt know that someone else has it. he can call it tyree whatever. i wouldnt pay more money just cause its tyree.

its one thing when u have the ever elusive tyree pink or red watermelon chalices.

its another thing to have tyree (fill in the blank) something else. its like... come on guys. IMO there are better corals out there that are unnamed. my LFS has a green polyp leather. the polyps are toxic green, and HUGE. they are like 3 times the diamter of a normal toadstool leather polyps. IMO also looks better than mr tyrees leather.

also, i think red fungia plates look better than any of the mr tyree corals. but its my opinion.

i think the chalices are one thing... but the rest are just BLAH.

except a few of tyrees favias, and a few montiporas. but thats about it. the acros arent anything to write home about, nor are things like his leather, war coral, etc. catch my drift?

Maybe Tyree would like to come on the forum here and explain how it all works. Anybody think he would?

Tyree if your out there buddy, come see us! :D

I agree, I have coral that is much more colorful than Tyree has to offer. He does have some very nice coral but I would have to say that most of the online sellers have as many or more nice coral to offer. I catch your drift..... lol. Only a select few are what would be considered to be rare and limited edition....

Rev - Thats funny!! Almost as good as the free 200-300 gallon tank with Tunze equipment.. Not gonna happen!

I think he is a member here actually.

I thought you were joking!!
By no means am I trying to talk down on anyone or there product. I just think that the name is used a little much. And I think the name Tyree is used when the coral has not come from Tyrees Coral Farm. That is where I feel that it is a scam one many occations

My name is Steve but my last name is not Tyree... :D
