Having trouble with new tank

I was told to not do any water changes for 30 days from the local fish store guy. he said it would screw up the cycle. (I did a change a week ago and the 2 clowns I had died ie I screwed up) also added some fritz 9. have some turbo start but thought id wait to use in my first water change.
It'll drop . Don't change water till nitrite drops. Dosing ammonia still?

So this happened would love to know if I’m cycled or need to do ammonia one more time 03E9CA5F-8948-4DFA-9A3C-E43EA8393AF0.jpeg
Get a couple fish

It's time. Acclimate carefully. Then do nothing but maintain and enjoy. Test more often at first. Feed sparingly. Good luck!
Thank you so much to you and this community. It makes it so much easier to be able to get feedback for some frustrating things like waiting on nitrites etc. any recommendations on feeding or food I’m get two small clowns and a fire shrimp

Nightly update have done absolutely nothing to it today
It’s going to take some time for results to show. How long are you into the cycle, did you use live sand, live rock, or dry rock. Stuff like that. Don’t do any water changes during the cycling process. You can leave lights off in your tank if you want but you can leave your skimmer on. I’d keep your sock out of the tank so that the beneficial bacteria builds up on your rocks and sand more. Leave it be and let it run it’s course, everyone’s cycle time varies drastically. Some say months and some say weeks. Mine personally cycled within a week some how. Everyone’s is different

Lots of choices. I tried to give my clowns misis shrimp trying to treat them. They turned their noses up on that. Seem to love Omega One Marine Flakes. I am sure there is more choices, but like their products

Would not get too rammy on putting fish in yet myself. But I err on the side of caution always

I used live sand carab sea live rock from lfs. I used turbo start and fritz 9. Been great and went through Fishless cycle after screwing up before. It took about 10-13 days. I got the tank and set it up on the 3rd.now 2 clowns and 1 fire shrimp 0A609F18-EBDA-401B-B32B-9E558E9742B1.jpeg 01985501-3647-478B-B6B5-B873EC2562FE.jpeg

What’re your params now?

I used the same test kits as you. I was unaware of the reputation. Yours look way weird. Are you using them exactly to instructions?. I always flushed mine with the tank water before starting. Don't worry about the cloudiness at all mine always were for ammonia. Defiantly do not agree with water changes at all. Bacteria does grow on the rock, but it needs to be fed. That is why you add Pure Ammonia I repeat PURE. Yours is nil. The cycling wont complete without it. The end test is add full amount of ammonia to get at least 4ppm, and it should be zero in 24 hours by the method I used. Take it to 2 for now, and see what happens.
If there was zero ammonia …
Where did he elevated levels of nitrite and nitrate come from ?
If the cycle is complete . There will be zero ammonia .

Looks good. Give it a little more time to make sure that ammonia goes down tho. I know it’s really low but better safe than sorry when starting out
It’s the ammonia spike from adding the fish shrimp and small feedings. I waited 2 days before taking a test so I wouldn’t be tempted to freak out.
