I know alot of people state 10 x display volume but I just think that's overkill. Pretty much only need to pump what the skimmer can handle. Otherwise it's just going up and down not getting cleaned.

So I wasn't satisfied with my rock. Did a bit more messing with it today. I also tested water it's looking pretty good threw one of my fish in. Rabbit fish.

I'm still going to play with the left side tomorrow. Idk if I will ever be satisfied with it. Lol. It's close though. My ammonia is staying at 0 now. Nitrites are down. Just going to take a few water changes to get my trates down. My cheato comes in the mail today so that will start helping a bit.

I hear what your saying but think of it as another way to increase water movement without having to add another power head. Take advantage that you have two returns. I don't know if you remember me stating I have the same tank as you, just a little friendly advise

Right now I'm figuring I get 600 in return pump and 5800 In power heads. So 6400 gph in flow. Over 60 x my volume. That's with clean pumps at max flow. I'm definitely not saying your wrong but Idk if I need anything more. I am intrested in switching to a dc pump though so I will be upgrading to a jaebo dc return pump at some point.

Thank you and yes good old Wisconsin!!

Heads up I also thought about up grading to the Jebao DC return pump because there such a good deal but the LFS in Milwaukee who stocks them said he has seen so many problems with them he doesn't recommend them. On my local forum I've been hearing about them failing also so I would be very careful. The owner of the LFS also told me they wont warranty them anymore because the cheaper direct from China ones look the same they can't distinguish the difference and those are total point of sale just becareful all I'm saying.

I've been reading the same things about them. For the price it may be worth the risk. Idk. Debatable.

Yah. That would be very bad. What other dc pump options are there? Most of the dc pumps are made in the same Chinese sweat shop lol.

Apparently Reef Octopus make a DC pump that I've never seen before. Looks very similar to the jaebo..... double the price. Will do some research.

I have a jebao dc12000. It works great and is pretty quiet too. Maybe the failures are on the lower flow models?

Seems to be hit or miss. Either you get 5 months and than its junk and it's loud from day one or you get a good one and no issues. Very mixed reviews.

This is the first time I've veered away from mag pumps. Mainly I wanted flow, no heat and less power consumption. Mags are tried and true but run warm, not silent and pwer hogs. Excellent flow and longevity however. So I'm hanging onto mine for back up just in case

Yup. I'll still probably get on a jaebo group buy. I never go far from home. I have 2 kids under the age of 2 lol.

Cheato is here hope it's still alive! Lol.
