Heavy breathing or normal?

Yes, Mysis is better than brine. The San Francisco brand is small. Hikari is a little bigger, unless I have those 2 flipped. Don't get PE, yet, as that stuff is big chunks.

Agreed - I did a recount and got 125 BPM, so not as fast as I first thought, but still deep and a bit fast.

The yawning could just be behavioral, or it could be a sign of gill flukes. Detritus in the water can also cause that, but the water looks clear to me.

Have you considered trying a Praziquantel treatment? I'm not sure what products you would have in Spain.

Thank you guys! I will look for the mysis

Jay I don't know about this either but I can try find it. Do you think that I have enough symptoms and should start treatment? Right now I'm not sure if it's a case for treatment or not. Due to the comments I'm tending to think that it's normal and that I should wait a little bit and guarantee good water quality and feed him more

Visually, the fish looks good other than it is thin. You might want to get some prazi to have it on hand, but then hold off treatment. Here is the US we use Prazipro a lot. You might be able to get that on Amazon, and then return it if you don’t need it.

Hey guys, updating here. The anthia remains without any other symptoms and still active and eating well (any brine shrimp that I drop he will consume really fast) . But I have the impression that the breathing got worse

You should try to wean it off of brine shrimp, that is really low in nutrients and won't put weight on fast enough.

I can't tell for sure if it is breathing faster, but it looks to be. I think you should consider a praziquantel treatment. You could also buy some time with a five minute freshwater dip, but I think you will have too much difficulty catching the fish to do that safely.

After feeding last night, Omega One frozen Mysis is my smallest brand of Mysis.

Hey guys! Already bought the mysis he is eating well. I'm trying to find the equivalent of prazipro in Spain but I'm having a hard time. He still only breathing fast like in the last video. If it was velvet or gill flukes were supposed to present more symptoms right? It's possible to be one of these and only the rapid breathing being present? I'm afraid of losing him since I think he's breathing got a little bit worst

I thought about something toxic in the water as well since my skimmer still bubbling like crazy (since I set up it). But I'm discarding this due to the corals and inverts being doing well

Typically, water quality issues would also affect coral and other invertebrates. Poor aeration can affect mostly the fish, but you have a skimmer on the tank, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Velvet kills fish quickly, but flukes are much slower, sometimes it takes months. I've seen gill flukes that only showed rapid breathing as a symptom.

There are viral and microsporidians that can also cause rapid breathing, but they are not identifiable or treatable, so we have to just ignore them. This often accounts for cases where we try to treat a fish, but they die anyway.

Rarely, bacterial gill infections can also cause rapid breathing.

Hey guys, an update here

He still breathing slightly fast. The past week caught him scratching on the rocks so I built a QT and bought some medicines (Paraguard, I was not able to find prazipro here). But it has been already 4 days that I'm trying to catch him using nets and it's almost impossible . He started to breath slow these days and didn't saw him scratching anymore, looks like it's getting better by it's own.

I think it's gill flukes due to him not be dead already. Since he is getting better, you guys think it's possible to him get ride of the flukes by himself? And if yes, it's possible for the flukes vanish away from DT without medicines with the fish inside?

Paraguard is not really effective against flukes. I went on Amazon-Spain to see if I could find any praziquantel products and could not. There is an ESHa product sold in the UK on Amazon, but not in Spain.

It is unlikely that gill flukes will just go away on their own, but I don't know for sure, since the only time I've left them untreated would have been when I hadn't identified and then treated them.
