My name is Jason, and I am a hobbyist. Lots of hobbies. Pretty much a sports junky. I am new to this hobby. Spent the last 9 months working on my 125 gallon long salt water/reef aquarium with our local fish store. It has not been a great journey, but like all things in my life, I find it hard to quit. So, I have read saltwater aquarium for dummies, countless forums, watch a ton of BRS videos. Pretty much what I have learned is "my local fish store was just selling me what they had or was easy to come by". I do not think they over charged me for any of it after all this research, but just not the right equipment for what I want in my tank. OK rant over!

I have just ordered 3 Ecotech Radion XR15 pro's with the mounts and will build my own rack (Peninsula video on youtube). Have learned I have a few friends who have showed me how to test water, and are a call away for a problem, and don't mind telling me their opinions. Although be it contradictory of each other. So, I am here to learn more from all of your experiences, so hopefully I can stop learning the hard way.

Hope to get to know all of you over the lifetime I am dedicating to reefing. Happy Reefing!!

Welcome to R2R! Yeah it’s a tough hobby for sure but that’s part of what makes it appealing for me. You’re in the right place. Having access to all this information on R2R will definitely make it easier. Glad you’re here!

JASON!!!!! Welcome to R2R!!!
LFSs are convenient but ultimately, as you have found out, it is up to us to do our own due diligence.
Hoping to see what you have up and running. Photos?
