i got it from a friend that didn't know what it was called. Nonetheless I'm a happy campervery nice looking torch but I cannot tell its Malaysian or not

Hands down you’d get my vote if they did have a Goni contest.
How are you keeping it from sulking? I’d love a Goni and I saw some beautiful Rainbows a while back but held off as I wasn’t sure how I’d keep them but now I have a happy clam and would love to attempt a Goni.

I think it depends on where you buy. Most of gonis thriving in my tank have been aquacultured for a long time (most from @TCK Corals and @AquaSD) so they are quite hardy and fast growers. I recently got a free pack of 4 gonis from a smaller vendor and only one survived. Other 3 died within a week. Some pieces are just not hardy enough to survive in new tanks. And some can be quite picky as far as par, flow and placement. My amazeball only likes one specific spot in my tank. If I move her slightly she will sulk and stay unhappy until I return her to fav spot.
Other tips include keeping Mag level high (mine is 1450~1500) and dose Iron and Manganese once per week. Other reefers also choose to spot feed with Reef Roid (I don't do this).
I suggest to start with the other flower pot coral alveopora first. They are hardier than goni from my experience. Good luck!
