Hello Everyone Starting from scratch!

One piece of advice I have is to try and know what you will want as far as coral and livestock 2-5 years down the road. That can help to determine what you need now, so you don't have to worry about buying something different in the future.

Funny thing is I tell my clients that all the time and now I find myself in their shoes saying "I have No Zero Zip Idea of what I will want in 2-5 years!!"

So 20 years ago I took my 55 gal tank and tossed it in the dumpster as my wife and I could no longer afford it with a new baby on the way. (we were also moving at the same time...)
That baby (and his sister) are now both grown up and have their own jobs!
For Christmas, my wife bought me a 180 gal. complete aquarium set up which is being made by Custom Aquariums with complete sump system stand, lights the works. I will not get it until February but trying to re-learn the hobby and learn what is new. Best yet now that I am older I can actually afford to do it right this time! My only tricky part is I travel for work like 150+ days a year so automation will be key!
So any advice you all have I will happily take!!

Oh and I have already purchased an Apex system figure start off with tech right from day 1!
Welcome aboard. I to am starting from scratch good luck with your new tank

Welcome aboard! Automation is great, but also making sure your SO understands daily maintenance and the "what stuff will most likely break" scenarios will help you be less stressed out while you're on the road lol
