Well, you got a lot of welcomes and no answers, and that's a shame.
So here is my welcome to R2R!
So I'll start with the fact that I've never kept an eel either. And there is a good reason that most of us have no experience with eels. It's because we all think the experience we would have is not one that we want! You couldn't pay me enough to get me to put an eel in my tank.
I hope you get a better answer than that from somebody. But I think it's a pretty small pool of eel keepers here. Now watch 20 eel keepers chime in! ;Hilarious;Hilarious
Baffles in a DT are a giant pain as somebody said earlier. I wouldn't do that either.
@Ron Reefman
I think he may be able to help you with your question ;Joyful
Why
@YankeeTankee thought I would have an answer... I don't know. Maybe because I do a fair amount of collecting from the wild (Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Keys). And I do collect some crazy and unusual livestock. And even though I had the perfect opportunity to collect a very attractive and not overly large moray eel, I didn't even consider it! I did however take a photo.
And I found a photo online of what you might be looking at if you put the eel in with the puffer.
Sorry, but you are looking at big and aggressive animals, and reef tanks are already aggressive when you try to keep things civilized!
