Hello from Huntsville AL

3 Month mark

Welcome to R2R and the addiction ;)

Well I found the following to be true.......
1. Having a reef tank is an addiction its like crack just legal
2. Having a forum of good peeps and tons of knowledge is more important to a newb then all of the equipment in the world
3. Finding local reefers who don't mind selling their reef is more valuable than money itself
4. If you sit and watch the activity in your reef you can spot problems before they become huge
5. Only BAD things happen fast
6. Overfeeding and poor flow is likely the cause of your Nitrate problems (still haven't figured out how much to feed)
7. LPS don't really care about Nitrates but SPS hates them (have lots of SPS skeletons)
8. Did I say reefing is like a crack addiction just more expensive and legal

Ok so I am now 3 months in I have only lost a few things and it has been mostly SPS so for now I am not ready for these....

Here are a few pictures of the tank looking good and healthy today, enjoy

Thanks, it has been a work in progress a few rock slides but that was expected with a 30 inch tall tank that is only 18 inches deep....

welcome 2 R2R, a little late. looks like a nice set up you have going. I have a terrible time with sps also

Sorry to hear about the SPS. When people try to get SPS from me the first thing I ask is. Ho wlong has your tank been set up and test their knowledge some. If I dont think they are ready I will tell them they shouldnt buy it. I just hate seeing things die because someone just doesnt have the set up and knowledge yet. I always explain to people like this. I want you to paint this HUGE room for me and I hand them a gallon of paint and tooth brush. LOL I mean yeah you can do but it wont be good and its going to take forever. Have some experience and the right equipment for SPS and youll love it. I wish you the best your doing a great job so far.
