Hello,
I'm Wayne, been out of the reefing world for almost 2 years and just getting back into it. Used to have a 90 gallon mixed reef, just getting my feet wet with what I always used as my frag tank before, the basic 20 gallon buck a gallon tank from Petco. Can't beat the price! Will wait a while before I get another large tank, patience is key and I'm in no hurry. I'm retired Navy, learned about working with the sea, not against it so this is just the right sport for me.
Current setup is the 20 tank, Sbox 16" WiFi extreme LED light, with a 2 small powerheads and a Aquaclear 50 for filtration. Running Chemipure Blue in the filter. Chemistry looks good so far, just some diatoms and of course the dreaded green GPA starting on the rocks. Nothing too bad so far.
Just one fish in the tank a small Royal Blue Chromis, with one red leg hermit and a few blue legs to boot.
Tank just finished cycling for the second time. A few weeks ago, added a few zoos, then my A/C unit died. Had to setup a 10 gallon tank in a short term apartment until the A/C was fixed (4 days, complete replacement of A/C, air handler, all the ducting in the house. I figured after the tank cooked in 90 degree Florida heat for a week nothing good would come of it. Had 20 ppm nitrates anyway after the first cycle, so I did a 100% water change, added some Dr. Tim's and all is well.
I look forward to R2R for a good read and an occasional post from time to time.
