Thank you! Hopefully it goes smoothly! Fingers crossed!@Gardnaaa welcome to R2R! I'm a newbie as well (around nine months). This is a great place to learn, and people are very helpful. My best advice to you is to ask questions, figure out what works for you, and move forward. Since you've done freshwater you already know that things take time to change, etc. Good luck!
Welcome to r2r ...I also started off fresh and had always wanted to do salt because of my love for everything marine but had heard how impossible it would be . I jumped in head first doing so much research. I bought a 300 gal glass ( go big or go home right) and started my cycling process yes there where ups and downs that first year I learned so much and even thought about throwing in the towel more then once but some perseverance and help.form fellow reefers im now 5 years and going strong.. also my daughter and I have really bonded in this shared hobbies

That's great I hope you enjoy feel free to ask any questions people are pretty good about helping each other out around here .awesome! And I was stressing about startup on my 60g lol. I work a lot and I’ve backed off on some of my hobbies I enjoy because it requires me leaving the house, and it’s less time with my family. So I’ve been looking for a new hobby to do at home, that I can involve them all in. So I feel like with my sons love of fish it would be good for him. The hands on experiences and responsibility it can provide him as he is growing up will be great. I never shared hobbies with my parents, so I’m also really pushing to have something my son will want to do with his dad. Nice to meet you and great story![]()
Hey Zack! Welcome. I live in New Windsor (I saw someone else does too... Funny) I have a 2.5 year old as well. I just bought a tank for the first time, still in the planning stages. Hope to follow your progressHello everyone, my names Zack. I’m 27 years old with a wife and 2 kids. My 2.5 year old absolutely loves fish. We have a 60g tall that’s freshwater, but I want to convert it to salt. I’ve dreamt about having a saltwater tank my whole life, but never actually tried it, because of all the “negative” things people say. I feel as if I give it a shot, it can be something my 2 year old and I could do together as he grows up. Hope to meet and chat with a bunch of you, so I can learn and see what direction I want to go in. Thank you all.
