We get almost a full four season in Southern California! We love it up here!!! Been thinking about posting up on the bulletin board up here to see how many reefers there are up here and maybe start a little group! That said we are down in your neck of the woods often so if you ever need any help please feel free to get in contact!!! If I can’t answer my husband probably can! And if he can’t, well, that’s why we are all here on R2R right? Hahaha.

My just under three month update. My tank has gone through a lot of ugly algae phases but my CuC and three out of five of my fish graze all day.. I had a rouge yellow eye tang which went crazy and was bullying everyone so at one point early on I took all rock bout the base ones in the sand out and caught it... that was a heck of a day..

So I have a six line, flame hawk, coral beauty, sailfin, and a one spot foxface.. they are all model citizens... they are all out front swimming most of the time but the six line works the rocks all day for pods.. the flame hawk does laps around the tank all day, from power heads to the return jets, rinse repeat. It perches on the rocks too... and two fire shrimp who hang out in front and have a very busy cleaning stations. so they’re all great and I’m waiting a month or so before adding more.. I want to get a pair of clowns and a bta.

my cheap lights have been great. My frags are growing and purple coralline is finally starting to take off. I have four conches in the sandbed too and they are wonderful. They keep it fairly clean.

ok some media in the next post.

So yeah I’m just letting the tank mature right now and not adding anything new.. I wanna pick up the bta and clowns maybe near Christmas.

Hi all.. I am getting back into the hobby after a 12 year hiatus.. I picked up a used 100G tank (clear for life 60x18x20), sump with pumbing + return pump, stand, canopy, sand and liverock (well, probably dead but it's live now) for like 300bucks... I have since invested a bit more for sump goodies (octopus 150int skimmer and aquamax 4" reactor), test kits, RODI systems and fully functioning mixing station, 3x Hydor Koralia 1150 circulation pumps, vipaspectra 165w reef lights... My goal was to do this on a budget but still get decent reliable equipment .. I am just at the end of my cycle and starting to add some livestock... my CuC comes this weekend and I am going to add a couple tangs too... I love how my aquascape came out... Tons of caves and flow areas... I have one Koralia pump sending flow behind the
rock structure and the other two sort of pointed at each other for flow in the front. They are moving the sand bed slowly so need to adjust them a bit. Here are some pics.

Hey thanks. Yeah for 119 each I love them.. perfect for getting me back into the hobby. I am seeing good growth in my little frags too. At some point I’ll go Radeon or Kessil but for now these are perfect. :)
