HELP Clownfish laying on side and white stuff on body

Hi,
I first noticed my clown laying on its side last night. I thought it was just sleeping, but it's continuing to lie down today. It got excited for food this morning, but it was slower in chasing after it.

There appears to be some white stuff on it (I think the video makes it look worse than it is, but regardless, still a problem)

I'm attaching two videos. One is under white light and one is under blue light. Any ideas what this could be and how to treat it? Thank you!

Do you have the ability to treat in a hospital tank? Formalin is the best treatment. Not sure if there are other effective treatments...

looks like brook, might be velvet, get a QT and treat in there with ruby rally pro or formallin if it is brook.

description suggests possible brooklynella in which the skin is hazy looking and the facial area has mucus causing rapid breathing
Other signs are lethargic behavior, not eating, laboring to swim .
The treatment choice is formalin in the form of quick cure or ruby rally pro
Ruby takes a little longer
If neither on hand, give the fish a freshwater dip for temporary relief and aerate water
Fish is already distressed, so it may help or stress fish even more
Start with 45 minute formalin bath or 90 minute ruby rally bath then treat in a quarantine setting although ruby is reef safe

Yes. But at this time start regular treatment and if things go south, you can give it another bath
Rally is very good and mild but does work slower than typical formalin

Thanks! I called Ruby Reef, and they said the nano version is 50% the concentration of the Pro. Fish looked way better last night, but laying down again today. Is it too soon to do a ruby reef bath again? The first one was probably only 40% strength of the pro, and this would be a full concentration (2x nano dose). Thanks!

Becky, I am currently dealing with brook and my clown too. Purchase Hydroplex ASAP and give him a 10 minute dip. It's the same company as Ruby Rally. It knocks off the bugs and gives him a chance. I am treating my fish in regular Ruby Rally now. I had no luck with Prazipro.

Stick with ruby. It covers an array of issues. Hydroplex is a dip and does Not treat for clown disease. The bath you gave fish is similar and as you found was effective

Hydroplex used as a 10 minute dip will knock the bugs off the fish and give them a chance to survive. Based upon my recent experience with 5 fish and seeing your clown, it needs it asap. I already lost two fish before I knew about the product. Hydroplex is mixed in saltwater so a lot less stress than a freshwater dip.

I am using Reef Rally ongoing in my hospital tank but you can also use the lesser strength Hydroplex instead of Ruby.

The owner of these meds has not returned my call about how long you can treat using Reef Ruby or whether it will kill the eggs (which I doubt). Therefore my plan is to do a month's worth of recurring treatments of Ruby in my hospital tank.

I just got off the phone with BRS and the gentleman I spoke with agrees with me on not using meds in your DT. It will be absorbed by your rocks and take months to leech out. It won't harm anything probably but it's there all the same.

This product is a dip and for bacterial issues in which this is NOT bacterial. It is not a long term treatment and is not reef safe nor does it contain Formaldehyde which is what this fish needs. the bath she gave them replaces dip and is Industry known effective
