I have been battling hair algae for a few months in my reef tank and it will not go away. My phosphates are .03. Does anyone know how to get ride of them and rather quickly.

Size of tank and clean up crew? Age of tank? Dosing live phyto and reducing white light helps.

Been dealing with the same issue. I added the Red Sea roller mat nov 1st, with nitrates around 15-20. A month later my Acans withered away due to nitrates dropping to almost 0. Within that same time GhA starting popping up and got so bad it was covering everything. I ended up using flux rx and and it took awhile to show improvement but I’m on day 12 now and it’s getting much better. I also beefed up my cuc as well. Now I’m starting to ghost feed my sump a few mysis a week to help keep nitrates in the system.

You need some diversity! I would contact the people at reefcleaners.org and see what they recommend. Right now you don't have anything for the rocks or glass. Crabs and nassarius both go after food rather than algae. If you want to stay local, get a few of everything your LFS offers. The smaller the snail, the more u can get.

Post a pic of the tank pls, curious to see

Need some white light photos please. What is your nitrate at?

If you're serious about fixing it that's the way

If you truly read the thread you see that cleaning it isn't a restart anymore than doing a water change is a restart

When you start a reef, you use bottle bacteria. We never did use any, it's just tank cleaning.

The thread answers every possible question including how well it works, because you can click on any entrant and see their follow up posts on the tank.
