HELP HOW LONG CAN CORAL LIVE IN A BAG

Hey guys so my girlfriend picked me out a coral frag from the WWC store in Orlando last week and it was supposed to be delivered Fri July 16th but FedEx delayed it, it just got delivered today but I won't be home until 7pm tonight. Do you guys think there's any chance it will still be alive? It's been in the mail for 4 days now. It was a WWC Laser Lemon zoanthid frag.

yes, it may be okay. When you get home, you'll know for sure in this instance ... but its why Fedex has insurance.... just in case not

Yea I just hope WWC will reimburse me for the shipping I know they will for a DOA but not sure about shipping costs

I would reach out to @WWC. I would believe they would help you out here is something was DOA.

I recently had 2 acros and a Goni delayed 2 days. Both acros were dead. Goni was alive and well. Just hope and luck I think.

I think sometimes doa policy won’t cover shipping delays. Hope they still take care of you

Any chance gf can get the box open and coral acclimated for you? Or check to see if it's mush?

No she's on her way back from Florida today I'm picking her up from the airport at 9pm

Well, I don't know if anyone agrees with me. But since it's been in the bag for 4 days and is a zoa, temp acclimate 30 mins and drop it in the tank. If it isn't dead. Getting it out of that water would be my first goal.

Brought home several acros and a couple LPS from roofapalooza one year. They stayed in thier bag in my hotel room for 3 days, then it was a days drive home.

All were fine.

Normally as long as they remain warm, they should be fine. Besides as already mentioned, zoas ship tremendously well.

Yea I hope mine are OK. My biggest concern is that it's been 95°+ the past few days in NY

Oh you'll know right away when opening the box and looking at the bag.

The water will either be cloudy(meaning they probably melted), or it will still be clear. You can give it the sniff test too if your unsure(sometimes they expel waste while in the bag making the water a bit cloudy). If it smells like fresh ocean, their probably fine. If it smells like rancid sewer, obviously they are dead.
