Bad news guys. Tonight with a magniflying glass I found then on my zoas. They are zoa eating nuds.:(. I have a hoeven's wrasse and I know they eat them but since he's being acting lethargic and not eating for a week the nuds population exploded. Is there any chemical that kills them? How about a six line or a yellow coris wrasse? Please help.

I feel your frustration...just wrapped up 4 months of quarantine of my Zoas due to nudi attack. Between dips in Bayer, manual removal, and a six line wrasse, I'm feeling good about problem being solved. The gestation period for nudi eggs is around 8 weeks, so it will take time. I'm sure you will get plenty of advice on this forum. Good luck and hang tough :-)

Thanks I did a bit of researching and I found about that salivate flatworm exit kills most nuds and they need to be dosed a few times. But they are reef sfe.

There are definitely a few options to choose from for treatment. Another product I hear recommended is Coral Rx. Either way, remember you will have to think about the eggs that have more than likely been laid. I'm pretty sure these treatments don't kill eggs.

I have a ton of wrasse, by far the best hunter is my newest, a dusky wrasse. Very close second place is the lightning wrasse. I had nudi a while back, I literally watched the lightning wrasse destroy them minutes never to be seen again.

Seriously just one after another after another. I never seen nudi in my main tank but I have 4 more halechoerus wrasse in there that I'm sure keep it clean it ever there was any.

It works best to dip the zoas in tank water in a separate container with FWE. Just like you would with coral rx. Do it every week for 6 weeks. They lay eggs that will hatch, so you need to dip often.

The ones I had did not lose to flatworm exit until I dosed way more than recommended. Although I do see many recommend that, just figured I'd throw that out there.
Alright Thanks For The Info. I have a sea hare and if I does will it die

Took me months to get rid of the in my tank. I manually removed and used flatworm exit. Took about 5 months and took out a good amount of zoas in the process. They are a persistent pain

I also recently just found some nudis in my tank. Mine ate the montipora eating ones. Already tried FWE once and dipped in coralrx no luck. And I used more than recommended. Luckily everything else and the nudis are ok. :-/ will be trying the FWE in separate container tomorrow. Will let you know how that works.

Ok thanks tell me about it. Will fWE kill sea hares?

Bayer would probably be better for those.

Yes, I got some today and dipped the corals... will dip again in a few days and continue till there are no more bugs.
I did try the FWE first and it had no effect on them...

Yup at least if you can take out a frag at a time and drop you can test a few theories and find what works best.

I still maintain my original suggestion of lightning wrasse or dusky wrasse ftw.

Gonna get a yellow coris wrasse. Bayer seems to be working. Haven't seen any nudi's today. Going to dip again on Sunday. Just in case. And for a few weeks in case there are any eggs.

Good luck with yellow. Everyone suggests them. I've had 5 in multiple tanks and they never hunted what I wanted them to. Always seem to eventually get bullied into hiding after growing with other wrasses too so now I only have one. Which hunts nothing.

How do you recognize the nudi?
