Help I'd algae?

Who said anything about nuking the tank. Now your freaking me out.

Unfortunately my friend @twilliard has been kinda busy. hang on. Some friends might stop by. That's just weird stuff.

I just ordered some nopox. I will start dosing at as soon at it arrives.

hey how old is that tank? whats with the snail shells. Old cuc?

About 4 months old. Snail shells I added a few to keep the hurrmet crabs from killing the snales. The small ones were bleached and added when the tank was set up. My girlfriend likes shells and she wanted them.

yea, thats a baby tank with no biofilter yet. Did you buy corals yet?

could have been some funk on those. In someone else's system there enough of a filter the gunk lost out on food. In yours its the top predator so to speak.

Same thing happens with stuff like flatworms. There not bad to have but if you never had them and you got a lotta food the populations explode. in your case a bacteria or really freaky algae.

FWIW nowadays everyone's about the bayer to kill bugs but not many clean the coral for bacteria and algae. (im not lecturing) that's what revive is actually for. kills some bugs too.

K so im weird yea, but you might need to start dosing some bacteria like Mb7 or bio spira and such. Same theory as carbon dosing kinda. increase good bacteria to beat out bad AND reduce nitrates and phosphates with a better biofilter.

You might be stuck lowering the light intensity and duration for a while and manually siphoning.

Id still like some of the reefsquad to stop in some more experienced eyes would really help.. That stuff seems familiar.
The stuff n the rock looks like reg cyano the puddle is weird does it seem like the same stuff? is all just slime that blows away?

Thanks. I also bought new bulbs for my t5. Tho ones I have are from the guy I got it from and whoknows how old.

nope. wont matter. its bacteria and bio filter. ive seen a tank w a par 38 led led from home depot grow coral.
no cyano good biofilter and some macros.

I was told that light spectrum cam affect cyanogen growth so I thought it could help with this also.

#reefsquad are there any algae or bacteria experts out there?
pretty much me n Todd.

That is the formation of cyanobacteria.
This is where a microscope will nail down which one you have.
I am sorry guys and gals school has me buckled down.
Hey Bud. Glad to see ya swamped by a worthwhile endeavor.

That stuff is weird right?

yea a whole lot of debate. you can try to reduce the red green and yellow. some think thats like ginger.

Thank you for the tips.
This is what I'm doing.
1. 25% water change.
2. Vacuum up the bacteria.
3. Turned up skimmer.
4. Turning off lights for a day and replacing bulbs.
5. Adding phosphate reactor.
6. Once everything is cleares up I am going to start dosing nopox.

Does that sound like it will work.
