What he said and this too...Angel fish nip corals. Even if you havent seen it yet that flame angel will eat your softies. If he hasnt done it yet then he will. Its their nature.

Well hopefully he has a appetite for mushrooms an Xenias then I can kill two birds with one stone :xd:

If you're using RODI water from your LFS, I would get it tested for anything you test for in your aquarium.

I recently found out that my city adds ammonia to the water to mask the taste of chlorine. When I tested my RODI water for ammonia, it was around 2ppm, which was enough to cause problems with my tank just from daily top off, weekly water changes, and livestock bioload. I had to switch to doing bi-weekly water changes and reduce the amount my fish got fed to allow for the system to compensate for the ammonia.

I ran tests on our ro water and everything came back fine.
Our local club president and many of the club members all use the same ro water we do and none of them have issues with it either... So I think the ro is good.

Yay! 4 polyps open on our fruit loops today! :)

I dont know if i would have 5 fish in a tank that small. Maybe 2 at the most. Goodluck i hope everything works out for you.

Good news! I have a great update! All our of zoas are opening fully everyday. Our acan is growing lots better.. And our scoly is growing too!

Awesome! Really happy the fruit loops are coming back for you! Once established and actually multiplying, they have been very good growers for me and well worth the effort to keep alive.

I am so happy! We were worried there for a while, I was hoping they would bounce back. We decided to get rid of our turbo snail today as all of our gha is gone and he was making it to that we had to move our corals every morning to fix what he had turned over nightly.

So what do you think was the main cause?? Read through the thread and based on what you saw? do you think it was the dip? or lighting. I'm having a lot of the same issues with mine opening as well, and my xenia's look like they are shriveling up along with mushrooms

AquaRox, sorry it took so long for me to post... Haven't been able to find my past posts... I think that the Lugols dip helped but the best thing that helped our Fruit loops was moving them to a more shaded part of the tank...
We had to get I'd of our Xenia rock as it was starting to grow too much, trying to take over my sand and front glass... I wish we could get rid of mushrooms.... Our mushrooms have recently started to walk as we have a koralia pointed at them..

We switched over to using Aquavitro salt to make our own water.. And have started to add calcium dosed in the back... Also started adding aquavitro fuel for a lil over a month.. We are now using rods food to feed the fish, and holy wow! Between the fuel and rods, our fruit loops, Rastas, and acan are so happy!

For fruit loops and rastas in our HQI tank they def need lower light...
