HELP IS THIS PALYTOXIN???

I was dipping my spider infested zoas and when i put them in my clean saltwater container to rinse the dip off this started happening to one of my zoas.......plz lmk what i should do. There still in the container waiting for advice here.

I would be sure you wear gloves and do this in a very well ventilated area. Wear eye protection as well if you can.

I don’t think you can see paly toxin. Looks more like zooxanthellae but I’m far from an expert.

Maybe it's toxic, but probably not. Most corals will slime like this when stressed. But either way, ppe is always a good idea. Fwiw I wouldn't think twice about this if I saw my zoas doing the same thing

Yea but its not slime like usual when you remove corals from the tank. Its really oozing alot. I always wear gloves and goggles when handling my zoas.

What should I do

You cannot see a toxin, you have nothing to worry about. Paly needs to be aerosolized to become dangerous in our (reefers) situations. If you are not boiling anything there is no danger.

Edit: I am assuming you know not to eat your corals and wash your hands after. No dangers then

Do you also fear formaldehyde? Acetone? Hydrochloric acid? Would you intentionally put them in your body? Surprise, they are already there! Your body naturally produces all three.

You are more likely to slip and die in your bathtub than be in any danger from palys/zoas. Do you still bathe? We've been keeping zoas for decades, its fine, no need to cancel them.

I thought it was palytoxin too when I was fragging some palys of mine. Then the same stuff came out of a xenia. I think it's just them expelling their innards or what they've digested. Usually happens under severe stress.

Every time I move my green slimer it covers me with slime ....
a few other acros and even favia does the same .
Is it safe to say palytoxin has infected my whole system ?

It looks like either coral poop or it’s expelling the food particles it has collected. Probably a bit stressed from the dip. Just wear gloves and face protection. Put it back in the tank and give it a day or so. Should be good.

if you start feeling very ill- go to emergency room. Even if it is paly toxins, if you don’t get it in a cut, or eye/mouth etc. you should be fine.

any zoa or paly had the ability to have paly toxins so treat everyone like it has it and use care and caution and your should be ok.

I don't think your tank is infected. I've had the same stuff enter my system, and nothing happened. Run fresh carbon if you're so concerned.
