Replacement has arrived!

Wish I had seen this earlier. I live near Aubrey and have a 25 gal black tub I used during transfer that I could lend if you still need it. Also, way too many 5 gal buckets.

Thanks for the offer, I'm about an hour away from Aubrey... I Picked up a 44g brute yesterday, plus my 20g brute and random salt buckets around the house I should be good to go.

Done for now! Realized I was out of super glue when I started adding rock, so it will be fine tuned still. So far so good!

Overall I am very pleased with Red Seas customer service, they stand behind their product unlike some other aquarium builders i have dealt with. [emoji106]

good to hear that works out at the end. Is this a common issue with Red Sea tank? I a have Reefer 350 that is 1 yr old, should I worry? how long is the warranty for Reefer tank?

Thanks

I only found 2 other people who said they had a leak. So I don't think its terribly common, i wouldnt lose sleep over it. If i thought it was just gonna happen again, i would have torn down the whole tank.
The warranty is 1 year.

One thing you can do for a temporary fix is get one of the long clamps from a hard
ware store and then clamp it on that spot to squeeze the silicone back together. Then when you are done you can just return the clamp.

I know this is an old posting but wanted to let everybody know the experience I had with that exact same issue. My Red Sea reefer 525 Xl have been up for about 2 years. The tank started leaking in the same location as the OP. The front glass started to come apart from the side glass panal and was leaking all over my carpet. A HUGE LEAK. I was able to stopeak by applying pressure with a ratchet scrap.I contacted them and was told the tank is our of warranty and that it's normal to have silicone leaks and for me to keep my case confidential.

I think everyone should know the kind of quality that's being sold and the customer service received and it should not be covered up to sell more high price products. I was told to buy a new tank since the silicone damage is non-repairable. I will be staying clear of Red Sea reefers tanks and going with a waterbox for my replacement. Be careful they will leak and it's not normal.

The cade tanks look even better designed in my opinion than waterbox. But then again, I would not recommend the inevitable failures of rimless tank. I would go with a custom one with maybe euro bracing
