Help!! my clam just closed up on my clown fish!

:squigglemouth:How long before it reopens? Does he have a chance of living thru this? It has his head caught inside the clam shell.
 
I've heard of this happening a few times. I don't think I've heard of any fish surviving (and sometimes the clam perished as well too).

Wow, those clams close really fast, fast enough to actually catch a fish by the lips.
I do have a variety of clams, and this has yet to happen. I'll curse the day that I do.

I guess that's what you get for sticking your nose in other peoples buisness haha... J/k in all seriousness that scenario has never crossed my mind.. If I saw that in my tank I would have to pry the clam open with a screwdriver since my clowns are my baby's....:sad:
 
Wow my guess is the fish was pecking at the clam and got cought! Sorry for your loss! Hope my little clowns stay away from my little clam
