I would say you need to raise it

It was just the initial break in period, especially in a new tank, but raising it definitely helped with the water not coming out of the skimmer’s cup..

Actually it is really simple. Vertex sells different sized lids to fit any skimmer so it is kind of universal. Problem is I can’t find vertex products anywhere in Europe right now. It seems De Jong in the Netherlands carries the brand but I can’t find the products anywhere.

Alternatively you can buy the AquaDriver SkimCkean. It is the best one out there. German engineering and precision.

With my vertex cleaner I only clean the cup once every month or more. Ivinltly have to empty the cup every week. Very convenient.

But given the bottle shaped body of the Nyos not sure how well it would work...

Gonçalo, do you know what are the dimensions of the Nyos cup? I need to know if I have enough space to remove it for cleaning as I only have about 25cm of clearance between the sump and the top of the stand..

But in reality you need to buy the Vertex lid that fits the diameter of the Nyos cup. They sell the lid and the motor separately. But the problem is that I can’t find Vertex for sale any longer.

Yes, they have been hard to find, they seem to be working only in the US..

The maximum height includes the bit of the neck attached to the cup, it is really short, not more than 1-2 cm. I'll send a picture...

Not sure if this is communicated in the instructions now, but you're supposed to twist the entire water control pipe for macro adjustments and use the Open/Close knok to fine tune it.

Thank you very much! It seems a really good alternative. Although it could be more difficult to get it in Europe, and the price can raise a little bit after the taxes, if it comes from US..
