So I have done a complete sand change and threw out all my old rock. I kept 60% of my water and my 4 fish in my 130 gallon tank. All parameters are good and other than my skimmer acting up I should pretty much be ready to go all I'm as far as corals... can anybody, everybody, please help me or give me advice on What to do next please. All help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Here is my current pic

I had it set up for about 3 years... all my fish have died and these four have stuck with me since the initial setup, I've had high nitrates. .. salt calcification on aq walls... worms.... aiptasia..... dead snails... dead corals u name it. I figured if I start fresh it should keep up ok since I've never actually gone in full mode... so I don't wanna mess this up a second time around

So -- you've completely changed your sand and rock? Is it base rock or live rock? What kind of filtration are you using, and do you have a sump?

I don't see any fish in your pic -- are they shy? :)

I ask because the bacteria populations you need to process ammonia and waste live on the surfaces in your tank, not in the water. If you are truly starting "from scratch" you may need to cycle the tank before doing anything else. Cycling with the fish (what kind are they?) may be really hard on them.

Yes. I did. It's live rock as shown I'm the pic. My fish are 2 clown fish and 1 pj cardinal, and 1 blue tang, I kept 60% of my water and didn't touch the sump. Which has the refugium in the middle and the skimmer on the receiving end...I hadn't put the fish in yet but they are alive and doing excellent. It's been a good month since the water change and I had recently purchased a couple of urchins.... they are all over the place as well as the snails I kept. Any suggestions as far as to what coral I can start off with without having to fear it won't survive?

Green star polyps and ZOA are pretty bullet proof , if you ditched all your old rick and sand though I'd wait a month IR so to build up the bacteria population might make things easier on you this go around since you left the sump in tact it would be a quick cycle me thinks. Pretty sweet tank tho :)

Nope your salt will take care of that as you add more and more stony corals your cal mag ect will be depleted and you will need to get on a dosing schedule but that's a ways down the road. I'd get just a few bulletproof frags maybe a hardy fish and let it chill for a bit

Is there any chemicals I should be adding as far as calcium or any of that yet?
Look up and follow Dr holmes-farley's improved diy 2 part system.
I would replace the live rock in the refugium with macro algae like cheatomorphia.
my .02

You can leave some rock its up to you but the cheato for sure, it will eat up excess nutrients in your water as it passes through the sump should be able to pick up a nice handful for five bucks at your LFS :)

So remove the rock and add chaetomorphia?

I personally would remove the rock and put in the chaeto, easier to keep clean, but it's not required. If you can somehow block the chaeto light from hitting the skimmer that is nice as I always grew algae in the skimmer before I got rid of the fuge.
