Help! What’s happening with my scoly? All my parameters are normal! Tank is 2 years cycled

How long have you had it? What are your parameters exactly? Anything near it that could be sending out sweepers and stinging it?

They like low light and low flow area of your tank.. mine gets angry if it gets to much light. IMO feeding is important with these as well, does it show feeding response? pic of mine looking for food

Last night it did, right now it’s like in the picture I showed and there’s a low amount of flow in the area

I would get your salinity down to 1.026 and although probably not the issue maybe lower your Alk a little to around 8 or so.. do you have calcium + Mg numbers?

Agreed! Scolys are pigs and should be fed often!

I Cant keep them longer than 4 years.Something always gets them.I stopped trying scolly's

Looks like the mouth is totally gone. You could try a lugol's iodine dip.

Found out my filefish was eating at it. I have the dip, what does it do? I moved the filefish to my frag tank

That explains it, I was wondering about a fish  The iodine will help prevent bacteria infections and maybe help it heal.

maybe try to feed it gently. Feed it something small like pe calanus, or small coral food.
cover it while feeding so other fish are not disturbing it . Keep those crabs away from him as well.

I had a scoly that had a large open mouth that I thought would be a goner. I fed food such as liquid oyster feast and reefroids, over the area of the damaged mouth and placed it in low light and flow and it started to recover.

I removed every single crab from my tank, I just have hermit crabs but I haven’t seen one ever on it.
