maybe try to feed it gently. Feed it something small like pe calanus, or small coral food.
cover it while feeding so other fish are not disturbing it . Keep those crabs away from him as well.

That explains it, I was wondering about a fish :mad: The iodine will help prevent bacteria infections and maybe help it heal.

I would do 15 min lugol's dips every 5 days or so. Until healed. I usually make a 2 cups of tank water at 5 drops of Lugol's for the dip.

How often are you feeding? If I fail to feed less than twice a week mine gets ticked and either starts to recede or loose a little color.

My file fish was a saint and chowed down 99% of my majano population. It went from being the size of a quarter to about 3-4 inches. Once it was adult sized it stopped hunting the majanos and started nipping my lobo colony so he moved out of the DT and now stays in the refugium.
