HELP! We have no idea where to begin.
Our toddler put a whole chocolate cookie in our tank.. It set overnight.
We got most of it out but they are pieces that are impossible to get out.
We have a nano cube ; 29 gallons. We have 2 domino damsels, peppermint shrimp, 2 hermit crabs, & 3 emerald crabs.
I just done a water change
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much!!

Welcome to R2R! Sorry that happend to you. A series of water changes is going to be your friend until all the contaminants are out of the tank, but honestly I don't think a cookie will do a whole lot of harm. Just watch your levels, and do a series of water changes to minimize nutrient spikes from the cookie breaking down :)

You removed the cookie, what was left behind will get eaten or rot.

I would add new carbon filtration, and probably not worry too much if the livestock is acting normal.

Do another water change if the water gets cloudy, otherwise I think a cookie is not all that toxic.

Oh, and secure the lid, toddlers are a real threat to peace and stability. They do grow past that stage, lol!

I’m mourning the waste of a chocolate chip cookie (my favorite ), hopefully this will likely be the only loss from this adventure.

Kids! I agree, you'll be just fine. Cookie, not so bad, but just to give you the heads up of potential future disasters, look what poor @Sarah24! had to worry about with kids and her tank HERE. Kid-proof your tank

LOL!!!.. reminds me about a guy in Ireland who had a tank by the stairs and when his dog pooped on the stairs the "business" fell into the tank! Luckily he found it in time and got most of it out.

So glad my tank is nowhere near my stairs.

I think you are ok here. Some of you old timers might remember this scenerio from Martin Moe's first book ( I believe)

Cookie Monster says, "You be okay....next time me feed DVD machine"

I hap the opposite kinda, back about 28 years ago, I had my 3 year old son feed a sand dollar into my VCR (remember those things?). Took me hours to take it apart and clean out.

Oh no! I hope everything turns out OK. My oldest was a toddler last time I had a reef tank at home... she used to drag a chair over to the aquarium and splash around in the tank, breaking stuff. I had one large monti frag, then one day I had two smaller ones, and then the day after that I had 3 :)

I've told this story before.......

Years and years ago, I come home from work one Saturday and the stepdaughter and grandkids came by to visit the wife while I was at work.

I say hi to everyone and then look over at the tank to see that it's cloudy and "stuff" flying around in it. I walk over to it and on inspection, there's a burrito floating in the sump!

Youngest grandson had "fed" the fish!

After a large water change and some GAC, all was good. Fish and corals looked fine.

I guess they all enjoyed the Fire sauce! Lol:mad::mad::mad:;Rage;Rage;Rage;Rage;Spitoutdummy:):):)
