How do I figure out if that it an how do u treat that?Sounds like cyanobacteria
I Agree! What kind of flow do you have in your tank and what are you water parameters? @Rayreef710 Do you have pictures you can show us?Sounds like cyanobacteria
I do have a wave maker In there..water parameters where all in range 2 days ago..I normally check water ever 2-3 days.pic yes sirI Agree! What kind of flow do you have in your tank and what are you water parameters? @Rayreef710 Do you have pictures you can show us?
Turn some whites up if u can and retake the pics please? Hard to tell if it's diatom or cyano
Yes sorry , just from my own experience with algae control. You can use turkey baster, syringe pipette to gently blow the algae, if it blows off easily and disintergrates your filters should pick this up, using the same method your algae may roll into a little ball and you can remove with fingers or turkey baster using suctionGot a scraper..lil confused on the lightly blow it an then discard...just want to make sure I do it right ..an the red algae normal grow back on the daily..
I normally clean the glass ever day..didn't know how to clean the sand why didn't mess with it..Hm. Typical diatom and biofilm algae. Just gotta clean more and get it exported to your skimmer or filter.

So these stuff will get rid of the underlying issue in my tank?If it is red and probably cyanobacteria
You can treat with a product " chemiclean" use directions as follows . make sure you have some way to get oxygen in your tank during treatment whether that is air stone or protein skimmer. Your protein skimmer will go crazy for a few days maybe longer
But chemiclean will quickly remove all cyanobacteria from your tank
Also others will post the standard " but this doesnt fix the underlying issues that caused the cyano "
No . chemiclean is a treatment product . not a cure for the issue that caused the bacteriaSo these stuff will get rid of the underlying issue in my tank?
Gotcha..how would I fig out the cause of my issueNo . chemiclean is a treatment product . not a cure for the issue that caused the bacteria
cyanobacteria typically grows in lower flow areas . You can try increasing your flow or redirecting powerheads so there is no " dead zones " in the tankGotcha..how would I fig out the cause of my issue
