Help with dosing

I need to dose 128.4ml of additive but also can not exceed 1/2 ml per gallon per 12 hour period... how can i do this safely and slowly? #reefsquad

if You jump start with manual dosing morning is better time with the effect to ph from my understanding then you can program rest in doses over next day. Also I believe mag number in range will help ability to keep alk steadier. What’s your mag at?

I use BRS 1.1 ml per minute dosing pumps that I have set to dose three times a day.

How many days should i dose and what would be the appropriate schedule to dose? in terms of how many times a day and the time intervals?my mag is at 1346

Do you know what your alk consumption is? I’m a manual dose still low consumption but like anything stick to slow and steady. You know what you need to hit target with zero consumption divide up remaining dose to near max for next 12 hours with doser then test to see where you end up at end of a day to start dialing it in perhaps. Just make sure you don’t shock anything going to quick. Shout out with doser you use and hopefully someone with Xp. in dining can give mire solid reply

right now im trying to get my alk up so im not keeping track of consumpti0n till i get to the number Im using a ghl doser for right now then will switch to apex dos but i dont know how much to dose for the day as to not exceed 1/2ml per gallon in 12hrs...

That gives you 69.5 ml per 12 hours. With GHL I think auto will split up total required into 10 doses for day or manual settings you can pick 8 times. If it was me I’d go with 100ml in auto for a day test and adjust when you see where that gets you. Gives some room for error staying under target then you can take new number do another auto dose and see what you get. Should give you an idespa of consumption alk# after dose to compare with what you expected it to be. What it comes up short will start to give idea of consumption. Just go little less do daily tests so it don’t take off till you gave a confidence level for your testing and the doser.

Okay right now my calcium has spiked so ill keep a watchful eye as it dwindles from the alk dosing

It’s below the 24 hour max dose. 1/2 ml per 12 hours so in 24 you could do 139ml by your additives instructions for your total system volume. But slower isn’t a problem if what you dose is higher than consumption numbers will rise. Just keep an eye on the big three alk Ca and mag.

Cool beans Slow and steady. I’ve screwed up chasing numbers for a test a did a little wrong and bingo overshoot. Like carpentry measure twice cut once test twice dose once . Getting to a stable point takes time keep to as small steps as you are comfortable with and best o luck dialing it in.

Very true and thank you! One more thing, can i dose during the night as to not affect ph? And this wouldnt affect my ph right?
